Room 5 Camp

On November 30th Room 5 went on camp to Waiuta. When we got back we made a slide show to show what we did.

On Tuesday 1 November we had a Cricket coach teach us some games which are Snowball Tag and Two Ball Bash. In Two Ball Bash I learnt we have to stand side on.  

Self-Portraits

In our class we each made a self-portrait. This is mine. Our class drew our faces first. I learned how to put the eyes and mouth in the right place which is in the middle. Once we had finished we coloured in the face and the background. It was difficult colouring in the background for me.

My Fraction DLO

In my class we have been making a fraction DLO and when we had finished we did a screencastify.

Spelling

In spelling I am learning to spell words with the endings like ing, ed and es. Some of the words I've been learning  are try, trying and tried. This is a sentence I wrote with some of my words: I have been trying and trying to lift a big box  but it won't budge.

What are the Olympic Games?

My classroom had to write an explanation about the Olympics. We included who,what,where and when. 

We wrote in paragraphs. 

What are the Olympic Games?

The Olympics are a number of different sporting events.  They are held in a different country every four years with athletes from different countries.

 Medals                                         

At the Olympics you get a medal if you get first, 2nd or third place. The gold medal is not completely gold, it is silver with a thin layer of gold on the top. If you’re not in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place you won’t get a medal.

What Team Sports Are

At the Olympics team sports are when you work in a team. These are some examples of team sports: hockey, rugby and rowing.

What Individual Sports Are

Individual sports are when you work by yourself in a sport. These are some sports when you work by yourself: golf and swimming.

Conclusion / Opinion

In conclusion, I think the opening and closing ceremony is a great waste of money.  My opinion is that the Olympics should still be held but not cost a ton of money.
